Beekman Hotel

Boutique hotels are all the rage in the city right now. Many are older hotels that have been refurbished to their former glory. They have such an amazing ambiance and are works of art in their own right. The Beekman Hotel in Lower Manhattan is one of the more recently updated hotels. Once a bustling location where authors like Edgar Allen Poe used to stay, it was left for ruin until a massive refurbishment happened in the past several years. The hotel is just stunning, dark and mysterious, but also welcoming!
There is an amazing 9-story atrium above the hotel bar and lounge. When I popped in to explore, it was packed with people enjoying happy hour after a long day working in the Financial District. The spaces are filled with wood paneling, amazing rugs, and bookcases filled with books and trinkets. The hotel's marquee restaurant is run by Tom Colicchio and the menu looked so amazing! I checked out the rooms online and they look so luxurious, too!

Wow! What a beautiful place. It would be lovely to visit there in the winter. It looks so dark and moody...and cozy.
