More Down The Shore

We're having a great week down the shore! Lots of time on the sand, the boards, and in the pool! We've caught up with old family friends and shown Judah some old haunts of ours on the other islands. Of course, we saw Lucy, too!
We've had a few good thunderstorms and only one soggy morning. But, in exchange for that we got the most stunning sunset later that evening! The town is getting busy as the 4th draws near, but we're ready for the fireworks and all the small town celebrations coming our way.

Beaching It!

We're back in Ocean City, NJ for the week! We all came together here 2 years ago and this time I got to bring Judah and introduce him to where I grew up and how I spent my summers. That "90s summer" trend - this is it here! In the 2 days we've been here we've hit the beach, the pool, played mini-golf, and had more Kohrs Bros ice cream and Bashful Banana than real meals!
This is a true slice of simple American summer - teens walking the boards late into the evening, no cell phones glued to their faces, little kids spending hours playing in the waves and sand, and families just enjoying being out together.

Laurelwood Arboretum

In Wayne, NJ - about 45 minutes from the city - is a true hidden gem. The Laurelwood Arboretum is a tranquil public park with paths winding amid wooded areas, ponds & seasonally blooming gardens. There are also 15 sculptures nestled around the grounds, each meant to complement the greenery and flowers in the park.
We had a lovely time walking around the paths and looking for the various sculptures. They are all so unique and perfectly fitted to the garden and greenery around them. A must visit in North Jersey!

Grounds For Sculpture

On our way back from Philly we made a stop at the Grounds for Sculpture! Judah had been there before but it was my first time. Grounds for Sculpture is a massive sculpture park near Trenton that was founded by the famous sculpture Seward Johnson. The 40 acre park has close to 300 amazing sculptures to see!
We lucked out with insanely good weather and had the best time wondering around for several hours. The works are amazing and massive. There are many works of lifelike people, many you can interact with. Some you aren't sure they're art until you're standing right at them!
