Downtown New Paltz

Our campground was not far from New Paltz which is a cute college town about 20 minutes from the Hudson River up in the Catskills. It has a fun artsy vibe and draws people all the time for long weekends. We spent a few hours walking around the main street which had lots of fun art and lots of little shops. There were some awesome vintage and antique shops we hopped into, too!

New Paltz has a lot of NY state history and there are many original buildings in the downtown area. Many dating back to the 1600s when the town was founded! Today it is a funky college town with a lot to explore!

Camping at Jellystone

We spent the weekend up in the Catskills at a Jellystone Campground. It was quite the experience and a perfect summer weekend away in the mountains! The park has tons of different rustic cabins and RV camping spots and even tent camping spots. We were in a cabin and it was close quarters but also perfect weather to be outside whenever possible enjoying the scenery and company.

The campground has a pool area with pools, lazy river, and splash pad/water park. There are activities like mining for gems, fishing, laser tag, and movies at night in the field, and more! We enjoyed time at the pools, took some nice walks, and even waded into the river! It was a perfect midsummer getaway and some fun time with Judah's side of the family!

The Good. The Random. The Fun. v. 29

The Good:

We spent the weekend in the Catskill Mountains, which meant amazing stargazing views! I looked up one night and the Little Dipper was staring down at us!

The Random:

Had to love this small town street sign! 

The Fun:

We were glamping with Judah's sister and her family, my mother-in-law and niece, and had the best time all together!

July 4th!

We had a great 4th in Ocean City! Small town Independence Days are really the best. Simple patriotic decor, local food, and chill days along the water. We had a lazy morning, walked the main shopping street checking out the local businesses, had a nice dinner and then camped out on the beach for the fireworks!

We used to come to Ocean City for the fireworks when I was a kid and the display did not disappoint many years later! We were perfectly situated across from the barge and it was so fun to lay back in the sand and watch the show!
