Song-ography: Parking

They paved paradise and put up a parking lot...
Don't it all seem to go, that they don't know what you've got till it's gone...

Parking. Pausing. Being.

A theme for this time of year. 11 months out of the year we go, go, go. Then the holidays come and we make time, or try to, or need to make time to just be. To park ourselves with family and friends and celebrate, rest, or just be.

We park our busy lives, we park the insanity of this or that. But in the process, remember to park the memories you're making somewhere. Don't forget to savor the moment, because you never know what you've got till it's gone.

Enjoy the season and don't forget to just be!

Such wise advice, and hope that all of us can do just this. For me, it helps me to really SEE the days with my THIRD EYE! Blessings to you!

Excellent words! This year is especially making me think of all the memories I have of Christmases past.

Lovely Tamar! Your thoughts are so true. We are always being asked for our time, and this time of year I always feel an urge to resist all the programs and parties. Just one or two is fine enough. The time at home is always most cherished. You put this all so well!

we have so many special places to visit and so many christmas themed things we like to, but i really try to plan and not over do it. being sure to focus on the traditions that mean so much to us!!

a great image for today but your message was so much more important!!

Your perspective on the season is rich in wisdom and so many find it hard to do. The message from the media and the merchants seem to shout the same directive as the sign . . . "no stopping, shop, shop, shop, party, party, party"! Hoping you have a blessed holiday season and some quiet time to just be with yourself and family.

A good reminder indeed. I like your take on us not knowing what we've got till it's gone. This is for me a time of year when it's harder to find moments to reflect. Thanks for the encouragement!

Tamar, I thoroughly enjoy the direction you took the lyrics from the song in today. Really gives me something to think about. You created a wonderful and appropriate analogy. Thanks for joining in on Song-ography. I always enjoy stopping by here :)

Thanks I needed that. I always seem so rushed this time of year. Perhaps taking time to enjoy it would be the perfect thing.

The older I get the slower I take the holidays - becoming more acutely aware to appreciate what I've got before it's gone (paved parking lot or no parking lot). Excellent shot for this week's memes.
