Song-osity: Summer living

Them summer days, those summer days...
Hot fun in the summertime...

Enter August: Summer's light is waning. The air is getting crisper, the days shorter. Where did summer go?

This summer doesn't feel like it's rushed by, it sure has been jammed packed.

Family time. Dinners outside. Summer treats. Staying up late. Time with friends. Farmers markets. Baseball games. Summer storms. Stunning sunsets. Lazy mornings. Sandal tan lines. Soaking it all up.

My childhood was spent at the beach. Summers were a blur of camp, beach, and pool. At 26, my summers look different, but reflecting on the last 6 weeks, I wouldn't exchange what I have now. Summer in the city, I love it.

And, I can't let myself get too nostalgic for summer, I still have 3+ weeks left to make more memories and soak up the sun!

At one point I questioned if July had actually even showed up - but in retrospect, it was filled with great fun and memories from beginning to end. Our summer break is winding down and admittedly I'm probably going to wish for "just one more week" at each stage of this year with both kids off to college. Having followed you around on Instagram and your Blog this summer - you have certainly experienced it to the max.

On our trip up to Boston/Wellesley, I'll have to consider when we have a down moment - even if for just a quick meet-up at the mall or something. It would be fun.

I'm stunned that it is August too. Last night I took our dog for a walk and didn't realize how much earlier it was getting dark. Glad I know the paths well. It has been jam packed for me too...

I was sad when we got into August but I'm accepting it now. It sounds like your summer has been perfect so far!

Love the golden light in that first one! Hope you soak up all that summery goodness while it lasts. Its still hot as blazes here and will be for probably many more weeks. Can't wait to follow your new school adventures very soon.

Be alert for flying objects -- so funny! I'm glad to hear you are enjoying this summer, Tamar. And you must be very excited to start a new teaching venture soon! Enjoy these last weeks of summer!

Very summery, I have to tell myself to ignore the approach of September every summer and just enjoy the rest of my summer while it lasts, you have a better time that way!

Flying objects? Sounds scary...Summer is the best time of the year , the few weeks filled with sun, family ,friends , outings to the beach etc! You captured this feeling wonderfully.
