I tried a new amazing looking recipe for shabbat dinner. Good news: it's amazing tasting. Bad news: it didn't want to vacate the pan nicely. Better news: it made a delicious trifle!
The Random:
Avi sent me this wicked cool etched glass glasses. One has a map of the Boston streets and the other the marathon route. Not random, but pretty cool to see glasses etched like this!
The Fun:
The much anticipated COLOR WAR happened on Thursday! The fifth graders are captains, there are three teams, and the spirit is contagious. We spent the morning at a local park playing various sports, then back to school for a BBQ, and more color war activities (songs, cheers, d'var torah, etc). I was a judge for the final presentations - ahh the power!

If you consider that the glass has a map of the streets of Boston....then it is very random indeed. You know the old joke about the streets of Boston being completely random and with no plan whatsoever.
Color War sounds like so much fun! x
That trifle looks amazing. Color wars sounds like so much fun! Love those cool etched glasses!
Love, love, love those glasses!!
I could eat the strawberry dish with a spoon, no problem. The etched glass is pretty. Looks like a fun time with the kids.
The strawberry almond cake looks delicious and when it tastes good, looks are of little importance. Have I mentioned how cool those glasses are? Well, they are super cool. End of school (and I am guessing you all are getting close, right?) - activities are the best - enjoy!
I'm cracking up - yes, the best dump cakes & trifles are usually born from another recipe falling apart in some way. :) Love that you found the good in that situation.
Have a great week Tamar & congrats on completing your race!! That was AWESOME!
Ha, I love what you did with the dessert. Great save! Have a wonderful week.
I think I'd eat that right out of the pan!! Yummy!
oh Tamar! That is the best part of a recipe: that is tastes great now matter how it looks. Thanks for being one of the first to comment on each of my posts. THANK YOU!!!! ♥renae
That trifle does look good. Those glasses are neat. One of our camps here does a Color wars challenge for the entire week. Blessing has decided she is not going to do it this year.

I laughed out loud when I read "ahh, the power"! I imagined you sitting there with a wicked gleam in your eye. Hahaha!
I always enjoy your fun and random shares. The map of Boston is just crazy. Mike told me the streets are laid out just horribly and you must drive like a maniac to get around!
Ahh yes, the power indeed! The Color War sounds like a lot of fun too!
Great idea to make a trifle. It looks amazing and refreshing. I really like those Boston glass. Those were a great find. Wonder if they do other cities.
Those glasses remind me of a funny graphic I came across a while ago, comparing the streets of New York to the streets of Boston...random indeed..love them! This is a great post, happy to have found you (via Claudia at Images by CW)
