Song-osity: Hello Darkness

Hello darkness my old friend...
I've come to talk with you again...

{Simon and Garfunkel - The Sound of Silence}

I may be the only person in the world who loves when we turn the clocks back. I love the early sunsets. The dark nights.

Ever since I was a child, I remember enjoying the chilly evenings...seeing all the lights with a warm glow from the windows. The cold, dark evenings make you want to cuddle up on the couch and enjoy the peace.

The summers are all about go go go. We stay out late, cook out, enjoy the sunshine.
Winter we turn in, enjoy time with family and friends, light fires and cook up comfort food.

It's a perfect balance and for now I am so glad to welcome the darkness earlier and earlier.
And! Come link up and join the Good.Random.Fun. each Monday, right here!

I love this post! I've been marinating on some new thoughts about contentment that have pushed me to rethink the way I look at this transition away from summer and outdoor living and such. Love this.

I do enjoy an early sunset. Nice progression of pics.

That's so true, although I am starting to miss summer just a bit...the leaves have pretty much all fallen and there isn't snow yet, so things aren't looking at pretty as they could. These pics are beautiful!

Maybe you were a bear in a previous light, hence your love of hibernation :). You are not alone tho, I know a few who love this time change too. Unfortunatley, I am not one of them. But it does make for some beautiful photography. Thanks for sharing at Song-ography.

Beautiful Photos! It's good to hear somebody NOT grumble about the time change.

Really pretty photos of the darkening skies. I like some parts of it but not that it gets dark so darn early right now!

Loved the photos! I am one of the nonlovers of the clock change. It gets too dark too fast and I feel trapped in my home. :( wah.

I love that song. And thanks for the perspective on the early darkness!

I could do without the time change - I feel like a mole in constant darkness both before and after work.

I had to smile at this post because I just sent my nephew the following quote..." I love the time change, said no one ever". Thank you for a more positive outlook!

Gorgeous blue hour photos!

I always felt the song was about depression. And that is appropriate for this time of year when the sun goes down way too soon!

Oh, the blue hour is magical in its own right.

Your song choice really matches your pictures. I don't care for the earlier sunsets, but I do like that it is not dark outside in the mornings when the kids are waiting at the bus stop. At least for now.
