Embrace Happy

Don't worry, be happy...
In every life we have some trouble...
But when you worry you make it double...
Don't worry, be happy...
Don't worry, be happy now...

{Bob Marley -- Don't Worry, Be Happy}

At the end of the school year, a sweet family gave me a beautiful calendar/agenda book. I have never liked that style of calendar for keeping track of my comings and goings, but was inspired to repurpose it in another way.

Each night, after I've gotten into bed, I open the book to the correct day and write 3 things that made me happy that day.

I've done it each night, without fail, since August 1st (when the calendar started) and it's been so wonderful to fall asleep having embraced the happiness in my day.

Most days I whittle it down from many great choices. Other days, I have to think, but the payoff is slipping off to dreamland with happy thoughts.

Have you embraced happiness?

One of my favourite sayings..'Don't worry be happy'...priceless. I like your creative, quirky -osity in your categories.
One of my other favourite sayings is...'Whatever will be will be'...'C'est cera cera'.
Also I believe you're a teacher from what you've said as getting your notebook as a gift...same as myself. Cheers M

I like that idea a lot. I tried something similar on an app, but never kept up with it.

Tamar, what a lovely thing to do. And, so nice to have that wonderful book to write your blessings in. Happiness is truly a blessing.

It can also be said that these are things we are grateful for, to have in our lives. What a wonderful idea.

My blessings are too numerous to count, so, yes... I've embraced happiness, and even more, I know that I'm content.
Thanks for reminding me of my many reasons to be happy.

That is a beautiful agenda. I have a planner I have used the past three years now and I like it as it is spiral bound and starts in July.

I use the 8.5 by 11 on the go one-nice, small, fits in purse and as it is spiral bound, lays flat and their bigger wall calendar. Also got their larger homeschool planner this year. It also is spiral and lays flat but is bigger. Has tear out shopping lists you can write on both sides :).

That is a great way to use it! We just brought a journal to write and record God's goodness in our lives and what we are grateful for. Have a good day!

I have mountains of journals that I do this in regularly. Some day when I'm gone & my boys' find them, hopefully they'll get a good laugh!

Good for you - you'll cherish looking back at your thoughts.
