Swan Song

{Papi} you know we love you madly...
Hear the crowd roar to your sound...
You know we couldn't live without you...

{Dropkick Murphys -- Tessie}

For 14 years, David Ortiz, has worn the number 34 jersey as he took his spot in the Red Sox line up as the designated hitter.

Over 7000 at bats. Over 2000 hits. Nearly 500 home runs.

Big Papi became one with Boston. He was a force as the team won 3 World Series championships.

He became a household name when he famously reminded the world that Boston was our (you know what) city. He ran a clean career, became a leader, and a role model. And now he has hung up his cleats and laid his bat aside.

The Piano Project painted this piano in honor of Ortiz's swan song and placed it right outside Fenway. A fitting tribute to an amazing career!

These street pianos are so cool, I've only see one around here. Do you sit down and play a tune or two? Thanks for coming to the party, I hope to see you again.

Street piano looks cute. Good combination of colors with the brick wall as the background...

That is so cool. Remember that the Red Sox got Big Papi off the scrap heap. What a great find.
