We'd briefly been in the Royal Dockyards 2 years ago and wanted to explore more.
A former military post is now a bustling port.
Cruise ships dock, ferries come and go and in the fort a museum all about Bermuda's history.
The museum shared the fascinating history of the island - from the original settlers to the role the island played in WW2.
Sweeping views of the ocean and a history lesson, not bad for a morning!
the Good.Random.Fun. each Monday and Little Things Thursday...right here!

I agree, lounging and exploring are a perfect mix. Even better with a pool to lounge by.
Glad you are having a lovely holiday. Your photos look strangely like Acre actually. Love the British phone boxes, though where I come from the boxes are cream - the only non-red ones in the UK.
The Royal Dockyards are so cool! I remember visiting them many years ago and it was just so fascinating! what a fun time!

...a gorgeous spot!
All that and some adorable red phone booths! I hope those never disappear, even though everyone must be using cell phones.
We like a mix of exploring and lounging, too. I have never been to Bermuda before. What a great late-summer destination before school starts!
I also like exploring when I'm on a vacation. That looks like an interesting place to visit!
Very impressive and who can resist those cute phone booths!
Very interesting!
And beautiful!
I love the view of the ocean from the porch (next to last photo)
Wow,so beautiful and historic. Thanks for sharing and I hope that you have a wonderful weekend. Thanks for hosting.
Woah so gorgeous! That reminds me a lot of a similar one I saw in St Kitts.
Lounging and touring are the best. Throw in a little history and WOW!
OH wow! That is an amazing view!!
WOW - what an incredible part of your trip. One day we'll go there.
