Plimouth Plantation

We gather together...

Second grade has a big Pilgrims and Thanksgiving unit and the culminating field trip is to Plimouth Plantation! I hadn't been in six years, when I went with KSA as part of the Thanksgivikah fun so I was so happy to go back with these kiddos.

Of course, we chose the coldest day of the year to go and had the kids in their snowsuits, but we didn't let that damper the excitement or leaning. The kiddos were so curious, so amazingly appropriate with the Pilgrim re-enactors and Wampanoag people, and showed how much they learned.

Always so fun to have this resource to bring our learning to life!

I just started reading 1491 - and it also spells Plimouth that way. It's an intriguing book with insights to the cultures here in the Americas prior to Columbus. So glad you all got a good visit at the historic site. I love doing that kind of thing!

That looks like great fun and wonderful way for children to learn by 'being and doing'. Thank you for your link up. I've just found yours after seeing a friend link up. I too have a link up on Mondays called: Life This Week. For one post old or new & I have optional prompts. Cheers from Australia. Denyse
