Old {Pink} Tree

There is a new, vivid, art installation on the Plinth at the Highline. Pamela Rosenkranz's Old Tree is a 25 foot neon pink tree that can be seen from blocks away. Old Tree is meant to draw on images of the "tree of life" and the tree's color is a nod to vitality.
It's amazing to hear the description of the artist's vision because suddenly I see a tree but also see the veins and arteries that make up our bodies and keep us alive! It also really stands out against the tall buildings and reflective surfaces of Hudson Yards and Manhattan West!
