Boston has these awesome Hubway bikes all over town - basically you can rent a bike, take it out for a spin and then return it to any other kiosk when you're done. I finally took one for a spin and saw a part of Boston I otherwise might not have explored!
I headed for the Commonwealth Ave Mall - an area of greenery along a busy stretch of road flanked by trees and old apartments and town homes. I heard there were sculptures along the Mall and thought it'd be cool to see.
After realizing no bikes were allowed on the mall (seriously, Boston?) I still found a way to enjoy the mall and sculptures.
Most of are of people that had an influence on Boston. These two being men I have never heard of...
This is a memorial to remember firemen that died in a fire tragedy one block away. I thought it was just a memorial until a nice gentleman saw me taking pictures and told me about it.
A statue of Samuel Eliot Morison - love this quote of his, seriously words to live by.
Love the Boston Women's Memorial, it is three women who left their mark on Boston. Abigail Adams, Lucy Stone, and Phillis Wheatley. I love the picture of the women reading against the statue of Wheatley, a poet.
Then I made my way back along lovely Marlborough St. If I win the lottery it would be my dream to live in one of these gorgeous town homes along a brick sidewalk!

I grew up in Franklin Mass..and used to ride the train all the time into Boston...also drove a few times. Although I am not a fan of New England (due to the blizzards that kept us in the house for days)...Boston has always been one of my most favorite cities. It is great to 'revisit' it through your blog.
I've never been, but Boston seems like a gorgeous city!

I love Boston! It is such a great city. Did you know the famous D.C. Cupcakes just opened a store there! I can't wait for my next visit so that I can try one of their many cupcakes.
