Yesterday, I explored a museum I have yet to see here in Boston, the ICA. I'd heard good things about their contemporary art collection and also knew the building itself was a must see as well. Of course, I decided to go down to the waterfront on a day where the windchill was 20ยบ!
The museum is in the South Boston, it's up and coming and lots of industrial buildings are being converted around the area. I was digging the view from the bridge heading into South Boston.Isn't the building so cool? I just love the funky lines and mix of mediums: glass, metal, wood.
The ICA is right on the water. The building has this great boardwalk type promenade. I bet in summer it's a great place to hang out. Yesterday, was more of a snap some pics and run inside type of day!
The collection is small, but interesting. I enjoyed the mix of statues, prints, and paintings.
At the front of the museum's collection floor is an amazing outlook space. You can just look out at the water and the barges and ships entering the harbor.
All in all, a fun afternoon jaunt to a part of the city I'd yet to really get to!

What a beautiful building. I've never been there, but I know my sister, who graduated from the Mass College of Art has been there many times and speaks highly of it.
Wow! haven't seen this place ~ Great shots and used to spend lots of time in Boston visiting my grandmother and aunt ~
Thanks for coming by and visiting ~ Hoping for rain instead of snow ^_^ this weekend.
Lovely shots, loving the black and whites!
awesome awesome shots!
But a geography lesson:
The ICA is in South Boston, not the South End. "Southie" is indeed the nickname for the South End, but it's not where the ICA is.
What a neat place. Very industrial in some aspects, modern in others. I wish we had more places like this in ATL. You seem to have lots of opportunity in NE.
Great photos, Tamar! Awh, thanks for saying I am a fashionista. I try. It comes so natural to my ydd. She has the knack back when she was just a kid. seriously. What does ICA stand for?
That place looks fabulous! I love all the architectural lines and details. If I ever come to Boston I will have to visit there and the Ducks statue.
The building is attractive, I agree, and seems perfect for housing contemporary art.
Very Cool Tamar!! This building is a very fun target for the camera. Have a great weekend.

Very cool! Love all those leading lines. Very interesting architecture.
Well you know that I think anything on the water is something to see...but holy cow, 20 degrees! Lots of fun angles to shoot here!
My motto is, where there is water, there is wonder. Nice shots!
i really like that album cover art. gorgeous colours.
Oh I love spaces like this - especially down on the water! {might wait for warmer weather...} I didn't even know about this place - I tend to gravitate towards history and the old. Need to mix it up some more! Thanks for linking up your black and white!!
