Song-ography: Signs

Signs, signs, everywhere a sign...
Can't you read the sign?

I had a few ideas for this one. Then life happened. And then I wasn't feeling the ideas any longer.

So I thought. What about signs. And thought about looking for signs.

Well. I found one. Big time.

As I walked along the fence at my building, visualizing possible shots I looked down and saw this. And stopped. There was my sign.

Allow me to back up. After my Zayda died, we began to find rubber bands and paperclips in places you'd not expect to find them. He was dedicated to his office supplies, always had them on hand, etc so we took this to be a sign that he was close to us.

This week was a long one for the various members of my family. We each were on the lookout for a sign, a sign that Zayda was close by. Here was my sign. My inspiration for this song and a reminder that sometimes, when you least expect it there will be a sign guiding you to that certain something.

Tamar, I am so glad you posted this interpretation. I just commented on another blog about how I would venture a hypothesis that none among us has not at least once verbalized "show me a sign" - needing some affirmation of our faith. I would sit on the top step by the spot where my mom took her last breath and quietly prayed "give me a sign you made it to the promise land okay" Eventually, after nothing, I remember a phrase my mom frequently used when long periods of time went between calls from my older siblings "'no news is good news". No news was good news from my mom. IT was the sign I was waiting for.

Your sign from your grandfather is precious.

So sweet, Tamar! I'm glad you are able to see the signs. I always wonder how many of this kind that I miss.

Lovely interpretation for this week's songography. I'm glad you received your sign. It seems when we are open to noticing them, they appear.

Wow -- this gives me goosebumps! How sweet. I imagine you will see rubber band "signs" and think of your dear one for years to come.
