Zoo, Trains, Sushi, oh my!

It's becoming a lovely and special tradition. Each time I come visit, Noam and I go to the zoo together. This time was no exception and we had a lovely trip together.
We've never seen the bears so active. All three were playing, relaxing, and putting on a show.
For the first time, and a sign that someone is growing up, we went to the zoo without the stroller. I love watching Noam stroll through the zoo, and it's easier to not chase him down with the stroller!
They have two lion cubs and the lion family was out and active too. They came right up to the plexiglass and it was amazing! The bottom two pictures are not zoomed in.
I just loved this moment. We were working on leaving the zoo, Noam was starting to get hot, tired, and hungry. He was upset  and as we made our way towards the exit, we entered the underwater area. He ran to this window and just stood there with a look of wonder on his face. Love this kid!!
This time, after the zoo, we upped the anti and took a trip on the Max train to Beaverton and had a sushi lunch date! When the server asked what he wanted in his kiddie-bento he replied "food!" - he then inhaled 6 cucumber rolls, 4 avocado rolls, the salmon from my roll, and the salmon roe!!

I love these special days, can't wait to have more and start having them with Ronan!

Even though it's in silhouette, the wonder on his face is obvious. Wow.

I bet the day was just as special for N as it was for you. I remember outings with my aunt and I loved them. :)

Look at him go on that sushi! :)

I love when the little ones get awestruck by things too. The underwater display is a great one to use for an example. Glad you had a fun day out!

I just came across your blog from a link up and got drawn into looking at all your photos. The scenery was looking familiar so I figured you must live in the NW too. :) I have a very similar shot of my husband and kids at the Portland zoo checking out eh sea lion.
