The Good. The Random. The Fun. v. 33

I interrupt the vacation pictures to bring you real life from the rest of last week...because life goes on...

The Good:
Finally made my peach + raspberry crisp for shabbat. Can't have a summer come and go without this treat!

The Random:
Why is it that avocados are always either hard as rocks or way too ripe when you go to buy one?

The Fun:
Took a quick trip to IKEA for a few things. My annual pilgrimage to my mecca.

Ikea- the place where I could buy everything & not have a place for any of it. :)

OMG! I could get lost in Ikea for days! If I go, i have to dedicate a full day to that store. Your peach + raspberry crisp looks delicious!

I've never spent much time in Ikea, but guess I need to. Avocados are a pain, as you mentioned, then you have to use the whole thing if you cut into it, or it turns dark!

Hard as rock OR too ripe...funny, for me avocados AND peaches always seem to have the same problem.

I have the same problem with avocados. So frustrating!

I agree about avos!! I can never buy them for a guac that day..I always have to plan ahead. I love the lamp from Ikea..I keep trying to figure out where I could put that in my house.

That's the truth about avocados! So funny! And your crisp looks SO yummy!

Yep, those avocados are like that around here too. I am lucky to get a good one maybe out of every 8 that I buy. I have to put a sign on the counter that says "eat by Wednesday" or whatever to remind me to use it before it's too late and even then sometimes I forget. I cut one open and scooped it out and put it in the freezer once. When I ate it. it was like having avocado sherbet. Not bad!

I love Ikea. Sadly our closest one is 5 hours away ;(.

Avocados, ahhh my nemesis. I have gotten in the habit of planning a head now.

Ikea is but 15 minutes away from us... too dangerous!

Sometimes I buy 5 avocados and get only 3 that I can really use. *sigh* What to do? I really love the fruit!

Mmmmm...that Crisp sounds awesome.
I hear you on the Avocado's. Or they will be on sale when they are hard as bricks but when they start to ripen they raise the price!
Never been or shopped at an Ikea but that photo is pretty cool looking.
