Hood Milk Bottle

Time for another edition of "a random Boston landmark"...
Hood Milk Company is a local dairy - stores here are stocked with Hood milk, ice cream, and other dairy treats.
Downtown, right next to the children's museum, stands this novelty.
This replica-esque milk bottle was built in 1930 and has been a fixture along the Fort Point Channel for over 30 years.
Today it's an ice cream stands and a fun piece of Boston history!

"You can feel good...
Good about Hood!"
Are you old enough to remember that advertising jingle?

Oh, man I love that! I wish we had one of those right here! (Although we did go out for our first and last ice cream stand visit of the summer last night!)

I have gotten ice cream there several times. Yummy!!! Boston is such a fun, quirky town. Always something going on there. :)

I love that old bottle building! I'd love to visit it.

It certainly makes me want a cold glass of milk in a clean frosty mug. There's a fun road sign place that makes stuff like that I've been meaning to visit. They made a giant musky that's kind of famous.

I don't remember ever seeing that. Have you ever seen the Hood blimp? Or had a Hoodsie? haha. I'll always be a Boston girl, even though I live in NH now.

Looks like a pretty place!

We've only ever visited that area of Boston in the winter or very early spring when the ice cream stand isn't open (or under construction) and for some reason I have really wanted to try it out.

What a great Landmark. I'd buy an Icecream there.

Definitely a fun piece of history -- but I wonder how long anyone will be alive who remembers actual milk bottles!! (Or maybe I'm wrong -- maybe Hood Milk still comes that way? Out here in the west it is only in cartons -- even my middle aged children have never had milk that comes in a bottle!)
