Love is Calling

Let me call out to and ask the birds flying in the sky
I want to convey to them my feelings...
Over many long years, with art as a weapon
I have treaded the path in search of love...

{Resinding in a Castle of Shed Tears -- Yayoi Kusama}

The ICA has the most amazing experiential exhibit right now. "Love is Calling" by Yayoi Kusama is an infinity room experience. She is known for her colorful and creative infinity rooms and this one is so unique.

It's filled with polka-dotted tentacles that change color. Every place you move in the 560 sq ft space gives you another amazing perspective. Her idea behind the dots is that we are all dots...dots in the earth, which is a dot in the universe, etc and every dot is truly connected.

It was such a lovely experience and truly magical to see in person!

I guessed it was Kusama! We saw her exhibit here a couple of years ago. And now the Art Gallery of Ontario AGO in Toronto now has its own permanent Kusama room.
