I had heard about a great hike up by New Milford, CT. I waited until foliage was really bursting with color and drove up to explore. It's such a great preserve and I only explored a small section of it. Paths span a river, which was flowing so heavily thanks to all our rain, and everywhere you hike you can hear the water. So peaceful!
The bridges crossing the river were so fun and gave you some great views of the forest. There is an area where there was a quartz mine and you hear the leftovers crunching beneath your feet. I came across some amazing stone formations too, covered in moss as well thanks to how wet we've been. I hadn't hiked in ages and this was a perfect one to get back into the swing of things.

What a gorgeous place to hike!
I love the 'poem' path. And your shot of the trees looking up is great.
That sounds and looks fabulous! My favorite hikes are the ones where I can hear water rushing/babbling nearby.
Looks like a great place. Love the photos; especially up the trees.
Oh this looks like such a lovely walk. I love seeing your fall colours this time of year. So glorious. I love your photo looking straight up through the trees and the quote on the bridge. Thank you for taking us there. Enjoy your week, stay safe and thanks again for the lnk up.
