The Music Man

On March 6, 2020, I saw my last Broadway show before the world shut down. It's been a long 23 months of no live shows for my theater-loving heart. Well, Broadway is back in NYC!! In June, we booked tickets to see Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster in The Music Man and hoped the things would be good come January. Omicron tried to mess with our plans and we did reschedule once, but Sunday was finally the day!
They did a very thorough vaccination card check and we double-masked for super safety. I was practically levitating in the theater. The production was more than worth the wait! The crowd went nuts when Hugh and Sutton made their entrances and they were each marvelous. The little boy who played Winthrop was so precious too. The sets and choreography and costumes - oh just oh!

This was the 5th to the last preview which was fun to see - it looked so polished and they were obviously having a blast on stage. At one scene she is meant to shove him away and it looked like she went in a bit too hard, he covered it so well, but the little grin they gave each other said "oops!"

Here's to a magical and a long run Music Man!

Oh, I can't wait to get back to live theatre!!! The closest I've been thus far is seeing Rachel's dance performance and that was pretty amazing. But there's nothing like Broadway.

I love when you catch those real moments between the cast!! I've been so happy to get back to two shows on Broadway. I've missed it so!! That is one I really would love to see!

Glad you got to see it - we live in the postponed world at the moment! (I caught an elevator with Hugh jackman - I wouldn't have said anything because he was with his family but his very lovely wife started talking to my kids about the footy - we were exiting the stadium. She's very lovely. )

I am so glad it was worth the wait. I have loved stages shows ever since I saw Oliver Twist when I was only about 5. Have a great week and stay safe!
