Happy Purim!

Happy Purim!
Today's the day to nosh on hamantashen, read the megillah, and celebrate Haman's defeat.
This year's Purim feels heavier. Once again a big, mighty "Haman" is trying to overpower and conquer the few, the innocent. The shabbat before Purim we read about the nation of Amalek attacking the Israelites as they leave Egypt. We vow to stomp their name out forever...never again. I keep seeing similarities between all these stories and it's a heartbreaking cloud over this usual joyous festival.
This year, my hamantashen theme was in honor of the brave Ukrainians. In addition to my usual jam-filled ones, I used blue and yellow sprinkles. It feels like such a hollow act with a war half a world away. I also donated to the "Hamantashen for Ukraine" fundraiser with the money going to humanitarian efforts to feed the refugees on the Polish border.

I hope one day we will truly be at peace, but for now, boo Haman and prayers for Ukraine.

Happy Purim, my friend. Sending lots of hugs and prayers and all the positive energy for peace that I can stir up! Your act is not hollow, by the way, it is a form of manifesting positive energy and directing it to the people who need it. Keep doing that!

It does feel heavy right now. I'm not into St Patty's Day like I usually am. I love your beautiful hamentashen!
