For the last four years, the landmark Tiffany & Co store on 5th Avenue has been closed for a massive renovation, its first since opening in 1940. Under architect Peter Marino, the famed jewelry store is back and better than ever. I hadn't been into the store since 2000 and wow it is even more stunning and impressive than ever before.
You enter into an amazingly airy main floor with mirrors and faux windows. The famous Tiffany Diamond is on display by the elevators that take you up to the upper floors and you can wind your way down the new sweeping staircase. Each floor had a theme: rings, home, and more. There are little nods to Breakfast at Tiffany's and a cafe. There are two floors that are for private shopping (it is 5th Avenue after all) and so much natural light and unique design elements that make the space classic yet modern.Thursday, June 15, 2023
