Parabolic Light

There is always amazing art in the Freedom Plaza, the 5th Avenue entrance into Central Park. The current piece is by Fred Eversley and is a mesmerizing 12-foot tall sculpture called "Parabolic Light." Eversley is known for his pieces that are variations on parabolic forms. He seeks to draw people into a world of radiant color and shifting dimensional perspectives.
The piece is amazing! I love how it makes the entry to the famed park have such a striking, colorful focal point. It was cool to see how the light warped from every angle and how it distorted people's image as they walked past on the opposite side!
