The Gansevoort Peninsula, on the Hudson River, is now home to the Manhattan's first public beach! Granted, it's small, and you can't swim in the river. The beach is meant to serve as a sandy park where NYers can go and sun bathe and enjoy the river views and the space is stunning!
There is a great rocky seating ledge where you can get pretty close to the water and a launching ramp for kayakers and other small boaters. The beach itself features 1,200 tons of sand with beach umbrellas, Adirondack-style chairs, and a misting feature.
It is really a wonderful edition to the revitalization of the green spaces along the Hudson River!

The beach scenes are so lovely
Pretty beach, even though you can't swim in it. I hope there's at least a spot where little ones can get water to make sand castles.
Wow! I hadn't heard of this.
Very nice, What a cool park. Would love to spend some time there.
Cute! They need a water play spray sculpture to help cool off!
Must be difficult to sit by the water and not swim in summer! We have places like that too, but usually because of dangerous ocean creatures. Enjoy your week and thankyou again for the linkup.
I love that they provided umbrellas and chairs too.
This is very cool! I love the rocky ledge for sitting.
Es una playa artificial, a la que han llevado arena. No sirve para el baño, pero se puede disfrutar de la vista del río y de la arena. Me han gustado mucho las imágenes de tus fotografías.
Amazing pics, Loved the post
