I visited my 28th state this week! I flew to Pittsburgh and drove down to West Virginia for a work trip. I am leading trainings for a writing framework that I have been using for ten years and my first assignment was in mid-northern West Virginia for a school district. The drive from Pittsburgh to WV was gorgeous. Twisty mountains with insane views - truly gorgeous.
I wasn't near any of the major cities in the stare which are closer to the PA border or Kentuck border, but there were some small towns with neat sights to see. I took a drive through Clarksburg and Bridgeport and saw some amazing Civil War era buildings and fun murals. There is just a nice small town feel in this area and people were so welcoming (that southern-esque hospitality). I was a bit shocked at how strong the southern accents were here, I really thought of the state as a bit more northern than it presents!
All in all a wonderful 2.5 days in a new place doing new things!

I've always wanted to visit that part of the country. It looks so pretty.
West Virginia is a gorgeous state. I love New River Gorge National Park. Thanks for the party.
Sounds great. I have driven through and agree it's beautiful.
Glad you got to visit West Virginia. It is quite different than New York. :) Lots of its own unique beauty.
Such pretty pictures! We have visited West Virginia before but we were closer to the border and one of their large universities... for some reason (though I can not remember why we were there!).
Interesting Post. Thank you for hosting too.
