On my birthday, Judah took off and we had a day date in the city! I saw that The Edge was offering "curling" as a winter experience and we decided to head up to have some "olympic-esque" fun and take in the views.
The Edge sits 100 floors up in the Hudson Yards neighborhood of the city. You can see in every direction and we lucked out with a frigid, but clear day! We had some time before our curling time started so we braved the cold to go outside. The Hudson winter has been freezing over (yep, that cold out) and it was so fun to see the ice flows from above!
There is a massive clear floor section that you can brave and stand over. Judah refused but I took the chance to stand over 9th Avenue, 100 floors up! It's a little crazy at first, but got easier the longer I stood there. At this point we were frozen, so we went inside and spent some time curling! It wasn't real curling, but pretty similar and super fun. The stones were on casters and we just sent them rolling down the "ice" and didn't use brooms to direct them. We ended up getting in two full games and tied each time and had gotten some serious strategy down by the end! And the views around us, didn't hurt either!
After we curled we went back out again to savor the views! NYC truly is gorgeous and it's so fun to see it from above every once in a while!

That sounds like such a fun birthday! I'm not sure I would have been able to stand on that spot looking down either.
...I'll keep my feet on the ground, thank you.
While I would totally be with Judah on not being able to stand on the glass part, that all looks SO FUN!!! The views of the city are amazing, and the curling looks fun to try! - Bekah
I'm with Judah too. I wouldn't be able to stand on the glass section! My fear of heights would have to be tamed first. lol. I'm glad other people can do it tho!
That looks fun! I like all the observation decks in NYC.
WOW, amazing views and that looks like fun!
