Wish Tree

In honor of Yoko Ono's 92nd birthday, the Park Avenue Armory hosted the most beautiful exhibit. There were 92 trees spread around the massive space and visitors were invited to write a wish and tie it to a tree. The space was set up to allow visitors to reflect and share their hopes for the future.
It was amazingly peaceful to walk among the trees. I wrote 2 wishes and tied them to trees, then took in the other wishes. They ranged from children wishing for "a hamster and a million dollars" to adults sharing intimate wishes for themselves and their family. There were so many wishes related to the hostages in Gaza and wishes to end anti-semitism (we can all wish for that, right?).

Happy birthday, Yoko Ono, thank you for reminding us to keep wishing and hoping for a brighter tomorrow.
