Fragile Giants

A new spring means that the Murray Hill stretch of Park Avenue is filled with new art for the next year!  This year, the sculptures are called the “Fragile Giants” and feature nine massive bear and gorilla sculptures by the artist Michel Bassompierre.
I love the meaning behind the title and the works themselves. These giant creatures are some of our most well-known endangered animals. We see them as both adorable and cuddly, but know they are equally fierce and protective of their kind and environment. A good reminder we can find nature adorable and must protect it!
