The Good:
I got to see the NYBG's Corpse Flower days before it bloomed (a real rare event!). It felt very fitting for Halloween week!
A comical activity book that teaches people (ahem...tourists) how to "New York" - this is genius (and spot on).
The Fun:
My mom and I went to a Japanese embroidery class together yesterday. I am not quite as skilled at sewing as she and my sister are, so it was fun to try something new.

That book is probably something I need to consult before visiting someday!
Needlework is coming back in a big way, interesting patterns!
Love the flower, the book, and the embroiderty. So much fun! Have only been to NYC for one day, during a medical visit, but my son and I had a blast just walking all over Times Square randomly, discovering things! We happened upon the Ed Sullivan Theater, just as the guests were leaving the David Letterman show, and got Luke Wilson's autograph. A thrill for my son, who is an autograph collector! Next time I go to NYC, i want to stay more than one day and have a plan, though!
...the Corpse Flower is fascinating.
I wonder if the NY book tells people not to stop short on the sidewalk!
I've smelled that corpse flower....ewwww! The NYC game sounds interesting!
That sounds like a neat class!
I've heard about the Corpse flower - I believe it really stinks! The sewing class with your mum would have been fun! Enjoy your week and thankyou for visiting my blog this week.
Yes, cool fitting flower for the season. I'd love to read that book and visit someday. Have fun with the new skill. I used to do a lot of embroidery growing up.
That embroidery class sounded fun. How cool to see the corpse flower too!
