Song-osity: Apple Picking

Thru the trees comes autumn with her serenade...
Melodies the sweetest music ever played...
autumn kisses we knew are beautiful souvenirs...

{Autumn Serenade -- John Coltrane}

In the blink of an eye, fall arrived in New England. One day sunny and warm, the next nearly 50 and gray skies. How better to usher in fall than by a trip to the apple orchard?

Bundled up in jackets for the first time in months, we set out. The gray skies and damp chill in the air meant a quiet orchard. Perfect for a relaxing afternoon picking apples.

Hints of red and yellow were finally visible in the foliage, as we wandered around picking apples. Eventually filling a bushel and a peck, we enjoyed fresh cider and cider donuts before heading back to the city.

This has fast become my favorite fall tradition, this being my 4th year visiting this orchard with friends. A day filled with memories and bags filled with apples, souvenirs of another fall in New England.

And! Come link up and join the Good.Random.Fun. each Monday, right here!

I haven't visited an orchard since I was in college - still, I can remember the fun. Loving those boots and glad cooler weather has shown up in New England. I can remember Allyson's first year of college, September was as hot as mid-July + humidity -- which is all fine and dandy considering the extreme winters; but I packed for the infamous New England Autumn - whew!

Ph my goodness, that looks like may backyard! We had a banner year for apples and have made tons of applesauce and apple pies. My freezer has no room in it.

How lovely! We never did get to all the usual fall things this year. I'm so sad about that.

I have never been to an apple orchard and this looks like a lot of fun. Question...those boots? Where did you get them and please say they are adult and not kids? Those are really nice!
