Rye Marshlands

Mom and I headed to the Rye Marshland Conservatory to take a walk in the marshlands. After a walk in the woods, the path opens into a lush field that leads you to the marshes in the Long Island Sound. It was a gorgeous place to explore and easy to social distance.
We used to live on marshlands just like this in NJ and it was so great to be walking in the brush and along the water. Marshes have a certain smell and even through our masks that subtle odor was there! We for sure want to go back in other seasons to see what the land looks like then.

Wow! What a beautiful spot. It looks like it will be pretty in the Autumn and winter as well.

How lovely! I recently read "Where the Crawdads Sing". Now I know what a marsh looks like!

Looks like the perfect place for a walk with the pretty scenery. We have one where I live, but have never really walked at it...may have to check it out. Have a great Thursday.

I lived not far from marshland when I was in Brooklyn, NY. It was like another world when I walked those trails. Very peaceful!
