We're In Israel - The Israel Museum

We are in Israel!! We've had a busy few days and have another week to go! On our first full day, we went to the Israel Museum to enjoy some culture and not over do it too much as the jet lag kicked in.

The Israel Museum is famous for being the leading art and archaeology museum here in Israel. It has an impressive collection of historical Judaica, art, and features modern works too. The campus is also home to the Shrine of the Book, where the Dead Sea Scrolls are housed, but sadly they have been removed to a secure location while the war continues so we didn't see them.
Another well known exhibit if the scale model of ancient Jerusalem from the Temple Period. You can walk around the whole city, as it stood thousands of years ago!
The collection was really impressive. I really enjoyed all the ancient Judaica and the replicas of synagogues from around the world that were brought to the museum to be preserved.

Much more to come from Israel!!

I loved going to the Israel Museum when I was there for the semester. We thought about going this past time but decided on the Museum of the Jewish People instead.

I can't believe you got to go to Israel. My church planned to go to Israel right before the war broke out and it's been on hold ever since.
