Festive Ridgefield

Tucked up in Connecticut, not far from the New York border, is the quaint town of Ridgefield. It's a sweet little town with tons of old historic homes and a cute downtown. I heard they go all out for the holidays on the main street and drove up to check it out.

It was so fun and festive! The shops downtown were decked out with lights and fun decorations. I walked a bit further down the main drive to check out some of the big, historic homes, and they were so pretty all lit up, too! 

It truly was like something out of a Hallmark movie!

Shine Bright at Hudson Yards

Hudson Yards once again went all out with its golden decorations. I couldn't see it last year because I was on crutches, so I was excited to take in the glow this year and it did not disappoint! 

Every inch of the mall is decked in golden strands of lights and gold and silver baubles. The hot air balloons hanging over the 4 story atrium just make it all so whimsical and fun! It doesn't feel overly Christmasy but more magical and bright during the cold, dark months!

The Good. The Random. The Fun. v. 49

The Good:

I drove by this really decked out house in Scarsdale (a ritzier neighboring town) and loved the lights. You don't see houses this lit up around here that often!

The Random:

Apparently, hollandaise sauce is a Chanukah staple...?

The Fun:

I popped into PetSmart and hung out with this adorable guinea pig for a bit - he was so cute, but alas didn't come home with me!

Pinkmas at The Edge

I headed up to The Edge for a fun pop-up with the Museum of Ice Cream! They had some fun photo ops and festive elements 100 stories up in the air. 

It was a first for me as well, we had a massive nor'easter on the day I could go. 100 floors up and visibility was zero and it was raining even harder than on the ground. They hadn't closed the outside portion, but I took one step out there and was blasted with rain and retreated inside! It did make it crazy to be enveloped in grey while inside versus the usual views!
