Sing Sing Kill Greenway

Up in Ossining, along the Sing Sing Kill Gorge is a recently created urban hiking trail. I had heard about it last summer after I moved back here, but it closed soon after because of damage from Hurricane Isaias. It's reopened now and is such an amazing Westchester gem. You drop into the gorge by going down this serpentine ramp and then go under the landmark "double arch bridge." Then you're in an oasis of nature, right below the hustle and bustle of downtown Ossining.
We've had so much rain this summer that the kill was running pretty steadily with water. There were signs for local wildlife to keep an eye out for, but I didn't really spot any. It's not too long of a walk and you get to go out and back, so added bonus of enjoying the scenery coming and going. I want to check it out in the fall when the leaves change color, I bet that'll be gorgeous.

That looks really cool. I love how they call rivers "kills," it amuses me.
