Tom Otterness Real World Sculptures

In Lower Manhattan, along Battery Park City, there are so many lovely parks. That range from massive playgrounds, to open green spaces, to whimsical sculpture parks. Tom Otterness adds the bit of whimsy with his "Real World" sculptures. The sculptures feature Otterness’s signature cartoonish figures that range in size and configuration.
There animals and people, bankers and robbers, all scattered about the park space in a delightfully loopy manner. There is an entire society of miniature creations including frogs wrestling over a moat, a miniature chess game in progress, and figures rolling giant pennies around.

It was so fun to stumble across this and try to take in all the little creations!

Strange sculptures with a naïve theme, but perfectly suited to the public space. Have a nice day
